Vermicompost is the product of earthworm digestion and aerobic decomposition using the activities of micro- and macro organisms at room temperature. Vermicomposting, or worm composting, produces a rich organic soil amendment containing a diversity of plant nutrients and beneficial microorganisms. The worm waste products produce the "cleanest" most nutrient rich soil possible and is in turn used to brew organic, powerful worm compost tea.

Castings contain rich microbiological colonies that help fight soil-borne plant diseases and repel insects.
Vermicomposting is the process of composting food waste and other organic materials with the help of worms. Here are five interesting facts about vermicomposting:
1. Worms used in vermicomposting are typically red wigglers or Eisenia fetida. These worms can consume their body weight in organic matter each day and produce nutrient-rich castings (worm poop) that can be used as a natural fertilizer for plants.
2. Vermicomposting can be done indoors or outdoors, making it a great option for urban dwellers who don't have access to outdoor space for composting. Worms can be kept in a container with bedding material and food waste, and the castings can be harvested for use in potted plants or gardens. Paw Paw Industries has had much success with very small bins over the years.
3. Vermicomposting can help reduce the amount of organic waste that ends up in landfills. In landfills, organic waste produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. Vermicomposting diverts organic waste from landfills and turns it into a useful product.
4. Vermicomposting can help improve soil health and structure. The castings produced by worms are rich in nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and can improve the soil's ability to retain water and nutrients.
5. Vermicomposting is a relatively low-maintenance method of composting. Worms require little attention and can be fed with a variety of organic materials, including fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, and shredded paper. Vermicomposting also produces less odor than traditional composting methods.
